About Us
WE ARE THE GENERATION OF HOPE
Generation hope is a group of individuals in recovery. They advocate for more culturally specific SUD services. They do outreach to youth to prevent them from falling into addiction and connect those struggling to SUD services. As licensed peer recovery support specialists along with being east african immigrants, they educate providers on how to better serve East African clients along with the East African community about addiction, sobriety and the road to recovery.
Since Generation Hope has started its advocacy work in 2019, it has connected hundreds of individuals to SUD services within the Twin Cities, and has worked restlessly to hinder the staggering spike in overdoses since the pandemic began. Advocacy work includes events, interventions with families, short films via social media regarding substance use disorder and giving out narcan in the community and at funerals of overdose victims.
